On each Retrofit Day of Action, the Solar Club installs compact fluorescent light bulbs and performs radon testing for communities of modest means in the High Country. We go door to door and offer to replace inefficient and incandescent light bulbs with energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs. Compact fluorescent light bulbs are up to 75% more efficient. We also conduct radon tests to see if radon gas, which is odorless and colorless, is present in the home. We also educate these communities on living sustainably by doing simple practices such as installing CFLs.
